It was a relatively cool day , for the standards of the hot Cretaceous dessert . The sky had a strange grayish color .There was a great amount of dust and sand on the air and so , no direct sunlight could reach the surface of the earth . The conditions were perfect for that Velociraptor to search for food .

The breeze brought a familiar smell to it's nostrils . There was a Protoceratops somewhere near him . He continued to search for it and after some time he spoted it's prey . The small Protoceratops was eating some sere bushes and it seemed to be fully unaware of the situation . Slowly , the Velociraptor got closer . Then it started to run towards the herbivore and jumped on the animal .

It tried to use it's foot claw to cut the inner part of the neck and make his victim die from suffocation . The Protoceratops managed to survive from that sudden attack though . Quickly he realized what was happening and started to defend himself . He grabbed the arm of the velociraptor with it's mouth and was ready to use all of it's power to throw the predator away from his neck when something happened . Both of them felt it and they paused for a moment .

The air was now freezing cold and that little breeze became a strong wind . Stoping to see what is going on would have been a terrible mistake for both of them , and so they continued to fight . Then , sand started to hit their skin with such power that they thought that another dinosaur was attacking them . Then darkness arrived . They could not move . They were fighting but now their goal was different .

Desperately , they were trying to keep breathing . Then sand got into their nostrils . Then ... Then silence . They remained Frozen in time for millions of years . Preserved in that exact position , they are a reminder for all of us , on how unpredictable life can get and how everything can change radically in a moment . We never know how close our end is ...
